TUSAL and knitting update

Here is my TUSAL for January. Sorry it's very blurry, I don't know what happened there. As you can see most of my orts are from my knitting and crocheting.

Here is my first sock. I do have both socks done but taking a pic right now is hard to do.

I had surgery on Monday the 22nd and the incestion is right on my belly button so bending over and putting on socks is a little painful. I will be taking pics later this week or early next week with my socks on. I have started knitting another pair for myself. I'm also working on one of my WIPs so my next update will be a pic of my cross stitch.

WIPocalypse January Update

Well it's a new year so let's hope I do better at updating and reading blogs. I do know that I'm addicted to Ravelry. To all you non knitters and crocheters out there it's a place for knitters and crocheters to get together and talk about the world of yarn. I also found a group on there that was related to cross stitching.

Speaking of stitching I've actually done some I've been working on Happy Ever After since it has to be done some time soon since the couple is not sure when they are getting married so I need to have it done at least to the point in putting the date in.

A new challenge

Well I've decided to join in Measi's 2012 WIPocalypse. I need all the encouragement that I can get to do some stitching on my WIP/UFO in 2012.

While I have everyone here I have a confession to make. I haven't picked up a cross stitch project or needle in I don't know how long. What I have been doing is crocheting and knitting busily on Christmas presents.

TUSAL for November

Here is my TUSAL for November I know it's late but with the holiday season upon us its been very busy. I work retail at a major retailer so it's been go-go for about a month now and I don't see it slowing down until after January. Needless to say I haven't been stitching like I want too. I have knitted a couple of scarves and I'm working on a crochet baby blanket that I should work on some more if I ever want to get it done in time for the baby shower in Feburary.

Here is my update for October. I had all plans on posting on the 27th but I had misplaced my camera cord. I found it today when I wasn't looking for it, as is the case most times.

I haven't been stitching like I want too lately but I recieved work that one of my husbands cousins is pregnant so I'll be crocheting a baby blanket for her.

I've been working on my sister's baby sampler so you can see some light purple floss in there. I haven't been stitching very much due to a sinus infection that has wiped out all my energy so all I want to do is sleep. I'm feeling better now so hopefully I can get back to cross stitching and crocheting.

Here is my progress on the wedding gift for my brother-in-law and his wife to be. I have the O in LOVE done.

I've started a birth sampler for my sister who is due anytime now. She picked out the pattern since she doesn't know what she is having it's out of Stoney Creek's Jungle Babies. I'm also thinking of doing the afghan that's in the booklet too but haven't decided.

Here is my TUSAL for the month of August. I know, I know it's a little late but at least I didn't forget about it like I did some other months. Below is some new stash that I picked up at Hobby Lobby while I was on vacation. I'll be doing this one for my brother-in-law and his soon to be wife.

I wanted to do it for my husband and I but DH doesn't like it so I'll have to find something else for us. The only thing is we don't have the same tastes so it will be interesting to see if I can find one to match both of us.

Here is A Long Winter's Nap. The missing colors at the top are colors that I need to pick up this week. I'm gonna take a break from my HAEDs so I can find and work on a wedding present for my brother-in-law and future sister-in-law.

I have done some stitching in the last couple of months. Here is page 2 done except for the Kreinik which is on order from Needle in a Haystack along with fabby to start another HAED.

I've filled in some of the stitches here on Long Winter's Nap. I will be working on this one once I'm done crocheting, I can't wait. I really enjoy stitching this one except for all the extra fabric since it's a bigger HAED.

Another New Moon has come and gone. I haven't been stitching as much as I would like but the flower beds have been calling my name to be weeded. I need to find a happy balance between outside activities and stitching.

I had to breakdown and buy a new camera since I couldn't find the disk for my camera at home. I bought a cheap digital and this is the first time using it so I'm hoping the pics will get better in time. Here is the pic of Believe as of this morning. I'm starting to fill in the butterfly slowly.
I have had to work on this slowly since I have to crochet a baby blanket for a cousin who is having her first baby in September. I'll post a pic when I'm finished with the blanket. I'm also knitting scarves for my mom to sell at craft shows. She only has one left so I've been busy knitting those. I'll say good bye for now and hopefully I'll post again next week.

I have another update but this time without pics since my camera is not working like it should. I have been stitching on Believe. I'll post pics as soon as my camera is working. I've been sick with the flu for about 3 days now and I'm getting tired of it. The good thing about being sick is the good diet plan it puts you on.

First finish and WIP update

First up is Gettysburg. His face and hat are done and I'm working on his coat.

Next is Believe my HAED. I'm slowly working on this one. I was going to work on Gettysburg until I got it done but with everyone talking about theirs I decided to work on mine. While HAED had their 40% sale I bought a couple of patterns and after I downloaded them I found another one that I had saved so now I have 6 HAEDs but only 3 started.

Finally here is my first finish for 2011. I know it wasn't on my projects page but I had started this one before the new year and had to wait for some extra cash to get a couple of the colors that I needed to finish it. It's called Dear Santa from the Tiny Tidings XI booklet designed by Lizzie Kate on some unknown fabric.

Here is my update for the TUSAL on It's Daffycat blog. I'm about a week behind updating for this but I live in the mid-west and got about 14" of snow last Tuesday and had to dig myself out so not a whole lot of computer time was to be had last week.

Snow, Snow and more Snow

It's been snowing since Monday at mid-morning and still snowing as far as I know. I haven't stuck my nose outside since about 3am. My poor dog doesn't even want to go outside and he likes the snow. Tomorrow I'll measure and see how much we have. In this pic you will see how it's been piling up on the rail of the deck. The snow on the deck is what we have scooped so the dog will go out. I can not wait until spring.
I have been doing some stitching but I've been reading more lately. I wish I could read and stitch at the same time but I don't like listening to books on tape so I'll have to figure something out.

First 2011 update

I know it's like the middle of the month but I really haven't had a lot to say so I've been stitching and reading. I've been working on my Gettysburg WIP from many, many years ago. I've been racking my brain trying to think when I started this. I'm sure it was when I still lived with my parents which was like 10 years ago. (Hanging my head in shame and slowly shaking it from side to side)
I've been told by my husband that I couldn't buy any more patterns or kits until I finished one. I don't think he knows how many patterns and kits I have in my craft room. I was tempted to buy another HAED during their sale over New Years but was denied. So I'm trying to work like crazy to finish one. Problem is that I have no small WIPs.

HAED updates

I've been working on a couple of my HAEDs while watching tv adn not doing housework like I should. The first update is on Believe I took this pic this morning but I last worked on it in September.

Fall is finally here

With the fall weather comes the falling of the leaves and temps starting to fall. Don't get me wrong I love fall, I like the cooler temps and the changing of the leaves. What I don't look forward to the the falling of the snow and the below freezing wind chill here in the heartland.

I've been stitching I've finished 1 project this year it's been a slow year. I've been working on a couple of other project one being an HAED. Here is an exchange project that I did it was for Shelley over at Shelley's Artsy Fartsy Life it was part of a Fall Ornament Exchange at the ILCS yahoo group.

Still on leave

I'm still on leave from work it's been a little over 3 weeks now I go back to the doctor on Thursday to see if I can go back or not. I'm not sure if my arm can handle the 50 pounds yet but we will see what the doctor says.

While I've been off I've been stitching and I even signed up for an ornament exchange for in one of my yahoo groups. It's been awhile since I've signed up for one so I'm excited to see who my partner is.

I can't believe it's August already. Christmas is just around the corner and I'm no way ready for that.

On a good note I'm on a 2 week vacation from work, not by choice though. My tennis elbow is acting up so I had to go the Dr. a couple of weeks ago he gave me some exercises to do and told me to put heat on it, I was surprised that he didn't put me on any restrictions but I let it go. I went to see him the next week since the pain was worse, he sent me to physical therapy still no restrictions. Now understand that I left about 50 pound crates and pull pallets that weigh between 500 - 3000 pounds depending what's on them. Last year when I was a cashier I was on a 25 pound weight limit so understand my confussion when I wasn't put on one this time. I called him on Friday and asked him why I wasn't on any restrictions he told me he didn't know that I wanted to be on any. HELLO my arm was hurting worse when I worked so why wouldn't I want to be on any restrictions. He is a quack so I won't be seeing him again I will find another Dr.

On to stitching. Since I've been off and I can't knit or crochet because of my arm I have been cross stitching. I've been working on Believe for my sister again. If you look at the post just below this one you'll see where I left off at the 9th of July and here is the pic of where I am now.

It's not a very good pic but it was getting dark outside and today it's looks like it could rain so it's all icky outside. I'll probably stitch on this one until I go to my mom's where I will see my sister so I'll pick a new HAED to work on I just haven't decided which one if I'll work on Earth Song or A Long Winter's Nap.

I've been stitching

I have been stitching (I know it's hard to believe) I've been working on Believe which is a HAED design that I'm working on for my sister. It's a Quick Stitch so hopefully it won't take that much time to do.

This is what I had done at the end of June not much from my last post but at least it was a move forward with the project.

Here is the same HAED on the 9th of July you can start to see the butterfly. I'm almost to the end of the right side of the first page so I'm getting excited about that.

The bad new is that I've started knititng socks which has my attention right now I'll take a pic after I'm to the heel flap which I hope is tomorrow so I can go to my local knitting store and get some advice from the friendly ladies there.

Facebook is evil

Facebook has been taking up all of my time. When I'm not at work I'm going through requests and trying to stay up to date with all of my friends and family. Speaking of work I switched to overnights so I'm sleeping during the day and working nights so I'm falling behind on everything I try to get caught up on my days off but that never seems to work.

I've been trying to stitch on several HAEDs at once and it was sort of working but then I had to finish the baby blanket for my cousin which I did. I forgot to take a pic of it before I gave it to her so I'll take a pic when I visit in August. I got an order to do another blanket from a lady at work so I'm working on that now and getting no cross stitching done until the blanket is done.

Here is a picture of what I was stitching on before I started the blanket its a Quick Stitch from HAED called Believe by Galbreth. Hopefully I'll be able to stitch on it somemore soon.

Well I better sign off so I can get some sleep before work.

First finish

Here is a pic of my first finish for the year I started this last year as a Just Nan SAL in my ILCS group but was kind of put off by the beading that is on it. I finished the beading on it on the 31st of March. I'm going to have it framed when I have the money. I'm not sure where I'm going to hang it yet.

I've started a new HAED called A Long Winter's Nap today. It's one that my husband picked out. I will post a pic when I have more then a dozen stitches done.

Here is another update in one month I'm even surprizing myself. I took advantage of Heaven and Earth Designs St. Patty's Day sale and bought myself another pattern this time a Christmas design called A Long Winter's Nap. Now I want to start that one but I don't know if I can work on 2 of them at the same time.

I finally bought a Crop-A-Dile at my local Wal-Mart for $10. Now I want to start a floss tag so I can use it.

Long overdue update

Here is an updated pic of Earth Song I'm working on page 2. It's alot of dark navy and black so it seems to take forever to do. When I'm not working on this I'm working on a crocheted baby blanket for my cousin who is due this summer with her first child. I'll take a pic later this week of the blanket and post it.

I'm now working overnights which is a switch for me. I'm so use to working days but I like the pay of doing it. I get to buy more stash now. I'm thinking of joining a fotm (fabric of the month) and a totm (thread of the month). I don't have much of a stash of fabric and the only floss I have is DMC so I'm going to a specialty floss collection now.

Summer is almost gone

Summer as just flown by hasn't it. It seems that schools let kids out just yesterday and here they are back again. It's getting colder here in the heartland too. Soon leaves will be changing colors and falling to the ground. Don't get me wrong I love Fall but just don't like the ice and freezing temps that follow behind it. I've noticed that Halloween decorations are starting to show up in stores and so is the candy which as my husband says if evil and taunting to me. I'm borderline diabetic and have just known for a year and I'm trying to cut back on my sugar intake but hey I like my candy and chocolate and then next couple of months are going to be hard on me.

I did get some stitching done in July. Here is an ornament that I completed it's #11 of the ornies that I'm doing for the year.

Here is ornament #12 done also stitched in July. I have 2 done in August also but will take pics after my batteries have charged. The first pics turned out really fuzzy.

Finally the Snowmen are all done with the stitching. Only thing to be done now is to put on the snowflakes, buttons and beads which I will do as soon as I wash and iron it.

Where has the time gone....

this year. It seems like it was just Christmas and now it's July. I was in the fabric department at my local Wal-Mart and saw that they had some Christmas material and was thinking it is July so I should be getting some Christmas presents started and finished or just finished in some cases. I am trying really hard to get the snowmen done that I haven't been working on anything else

except for ornaments these past couple of weeks.

Sorry for not blogging sooner but it's been crazy around here. My DMIL decided that the carpet in my living room and hallway needed to go and in it's place is hardwood lament. As you can see everything that was in the living room went to the kitchen I had a path to the bedroom and that was it. As of right now the flooring is all layed we are just waiting for Mernards to get more of the doorway pieces in. Not sure what they are called. All of the work being done my DFIL is doing. That is my dog Jack and cat Grace.

I have been stitching just not much over the last couple of weeks. Earth Song not much has changed so no pic. I did work on Snowmen and finished the white, backstitched what I could and added the berries at the bottom.

I'll be on vacation this week. I'm visiting my family in Nothern Iowa by myself with no husband so hopefully I'll get some stitching done. I say hopefully because on Monday I found out that I have Tennis Elbow in the right arm. I'm hoping that I can hold my Q-Snap in that hand and use my left hand for my needle. You would think that it would be no problem since I'm left handed but it seems like I use my right hand for alot of things including holding my needle. I will figure it out.

Sorry for the fuzzy pic. I got a new camera and still trying to work out the kinks. This is the April edition of the January SAL from OakHavenDesigns. Tonya does such a great job designing all of these wonderful patterns.

Earth Song Update

This week I worked exclusively on Earth Song. I think I'm going to do like a weekly rotation between Earth Song and the Snowmen.

Several people wanted to know which HAED I was working on so here is a pic of what it will look like hopefully when it's done. The snowmen that I'm working on is out of Cross Country Stitching Magazine February 2008 edition.

Before, mainly black done here.

Now, mainly dark navy blue. I can't really tell the difference.

2 week update

Here is a snowman piece that I'm working on for my Mom for Christmas. I think I'm about 3/4 of the way done with it. (At least I hope so.)

I worked on my HAED. Here is my progress as of Sunday April 26th.

I have a finish. It's my 3rd ornie for April.

Edgar is having a drawing on his blog for "Lo Rose" he'll take entries until May 1st and the drawing will be on May 4th.

I'm doing a Happy Dance. I've totally made up for not getting an ornie done in Feburary by doing 3 yes 3 in the month of April. They can be seen in the group photos under Jennifer B.'s ornies.

I have finished 2 ornies for the month of April and I'm working on my 3rd, whether it gets done or not is another story. I have also started an HAED design called "Earth Song" I have a little over 1400 stitches done on it.
