Week One Update

Well I've been good about stitching everyday on the assigned day. I can't say that it's been easy because some of them call louder then the others but I've stuck to my guns.

A New Year

Well posting a pic everyday was not winning way to work on projects so this year I'm working on my HAEDs. I have 7 on the go so I'm working on one a day. Some days I stitch more then others it just depends on what I have going on that day. These are the ones that I'm working on.

A week full of photos

Well, I wasn't very good at doing posts but I did good at taking photos. I didn't stitch over the weekend do to the fact that I was helping my mom and sister with a craft show. I worked on my crochet project since I don't need good light for that.

Day 3 of A Long Winter's Nap

Well here is day 3 of my posts on A Long Winter's Nap. I only stitched 152 stitches yesterday I was hoping for better but my kittens decided that I made a good bed. Daniel is ok with sleeping on my lap but Teal'c insists that he has to lay in my arms to sleep, if I try and put him on my lap he just crawls back into my arms.

A Long Winter's Nap

I'm actually impressed that I remembered to take a picture this morning of my WIP. I'm starting to see some of the Christmas tree there at the bottom.

Here is what it will look like once I get it all completed. It's a very blurry pic you can see the original one here.

Stitching Update

Here is page 3 of A Long Winter's Nap by Dona Gelsinger. I have more done on it now and I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. I'm going to try and take pics every morning and post them, at least that's my goal.

Page 2 finished

I finally finished page 2 of my HAED A Long Winter's Nap by Dona Gelsinger. I don't know why this page took so long the only excuse I have is that I got 2 new kittens and they insist on sleeping on me, one on my lap and the other one in my arms which means no stitching. I can stitch if I only have one on my lap which is usually Daniel.

He is also the one who is the most hyper. Teal'c is the calmer of the two and is also the one who insists on laying in my arms instead of on my lap.

And here is a pic of them both sleeping on me.

I'm a bad blogger

I can't believe I haven't blogged since March but a lot has happened. My husband and I moved across the state to be closer to my family. We decided that I needed a change after dealing with cancer. Since it is cheaper to live here in the small little town we live in I don't have to work so you would think that I would be able to blog more but I've been helping my sister with her business so it's like I'm working full time still.

We had an addition to the family, my brother in law and sister in law have a new baby girl named Sophie Danay. She is almost 2 months old now and the cutest little thing but I think I'm bias.

I have done some cross stitching. I finished the birth sampler for Sophie and I also finished my first HAED it's called QS Believe by Galbreth it took me over 4 years to complete.

I'm currently working on another HAED called A Long Winter's Nap by Gelsinger.

First post of the year

Well, I'm done with all of my radiation and I'm back to work. I got the word in January that I'm cancer free. My stitching has slowed way down.
I'm going to be an aunt again sometime this summer so I've been busy stitching up a birth sampler but can't totally finish it until the baby gets here since the parents don't want to know what it is until it comes.

This is what it looked like at the end of January.
Here is what it looks like now.

A couple of finishes

Sorry about being absent from the blog but I have reason. Life threw me a loop in the form of breast cancer on October 14th. I've been reassured that it is the best breast cancer to get as it is stage 0, it won't spread since it is just in the ducts and non-invasive. I have had two surgeries to remove the cyst and additional tissue to have a good margin between the cancer and good tissue. I will be starting radiation later is month, I have taken off work to deal with all of this and am trying to decide if I want to go back to working overnights and deal with all of stress that is involved with it all.

Stitching has been my saving grace in keeping my sanity. I have finished The Quiltmaker and a small little stitch that I made for my sister. I'm now working on Solstice & Equinox an HAED chart for my brother.

Finally an update

I've been stitching and reading but not posting much. The heat here has been just terrible. I've moved a couple of months ago and still have yet to find where I put everything.

This is where I'm at as of the 7th of September on The Quiltmaker.

Stitching update

Well I have miss placed my camera, usually it's the cord that goes missing not the camera so you'll have to forgive the sucky pic that was taken on my cell phone.

Here is where I am on Mini Blue Topaz a HAED pattern that I started on January 1, 2013. I'm not even done with the first page. As of this picture I've done 2,299 stitches out of 75,825.

I want to welcome all my new followers that came from joining Vicki's Grow Your Blog Party. I personally am still going thru the blogs on her list. I got distracted by a new game that I downloaded to my Google Chrome called Mahjong Butterflies. It's very addictive.

Grow Your Blog Party

The party is here, finally. I can't wait to grow my blog and meet some new friends. Let me tell you some things about myself.

Here is a picture of myself and my DH on vacation in Florida. We've been married since October 2003. Here we are at Universal Studios waiting to go on a ride. I haven't changed much since this pic except that my hair is much shorter now and a lighter color. We have no children as of yet, except for our furry ones who act human. We are trying to get pregnant with the help of a fertility specialist but no luck as of yet. If we don't get pregnant we will adopt if we can agree on the age of the child(ren) we want to adopt.
I enjoy counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting and reading. DH has decided that when it comes to my obsessions I can not be denied and that I have way more patterns then I could do in a life time, maybe. Working slows down my stitching, I work overnights so sometimes sleeping is an issue so then I stitch or read.

Here is Jack. He is a schnauzer, in the summer he is shaved way down but in the winter his hair is just everywhere. He is the youngest.
Here is Karen. My DH found her at work in the spring while it was nasty outside. Someone had just dropped her off and he brought her home to me. She is very friendly, sometimes too friendly.

Last but not least is the oldest of the three, Gracie. We have had her since just after we got married. She is the Queen and she knows it.

If you want to know more about me feel free to drop me a comment or send me an email.

TUSAL

Well it's a new year so another round of TUSAL hosted by Daffycat has started. I have a pretty good start since it's on the 13th and I started on the 1st. All the floss is from my new start Mini Blue Topaz a HAED.

Another note, my DH has hurt is back and has been off of work for most of the week so that has slowed my stitching since he is a big baby when he is in pain or is sick. I'm hoping they release him to go back to work on Monday.

Blog Hop #14

Stitching Bloggers Blog Hop

I have joined the Stitching Bloggers #14 hosted by Stitching the Night Away. This is my first blog hop so we'll see how it goes.
The questions for this round are:
What was your biggest stitching accomplishment in 2012?
What was your favorite stash acquisition in 2012 and will you be using it in 2013?

My biggest stitching accomplishment was finishing a piece and then framing it myself as a gift for my brother in law's wedding. My favorite stash acquisition would have to be several HAED (Heaven and Earth Designs) some by RAKing  and some by purchasing. I started one of them on January 1st as part of a SAL and I hope to start several other later in the year.
