First finish

Here is a pic of my first finish for the year I started this last year as a Just Nan SAL in my ILCS group but was kind of put off by the beading that is on it. I finished the beading on it on the 31st of March. I'm going to have it framed when I have the money. I'm not sure where I'm going to hang it yet.

I've started a new HAED called A Long Winter's Nap today. It's one that my husband picked out. I will post a pic when I have more then a dozen stitches done.

Another update

Here is another update in one month I'm even surprizing myself. I took advantage of Heaven and Earth Designs St. Patty's Day sale and bought myself another pattern this time a Christmas design called A Long Winter's Nap. Now I want to start that one but I don't know if I can work on 2 of them at the same time.

Here is a pic of the blanket I'm crocheting for my cousin. I got the pattern from the Lion Brand Yarn website.

I finally bought a Crop-A-Dile at my local Wal-Mart for $10. Now I want to start a floss tag so I can use it.

Long overdue update

Here is an updated pic of Earth Song I'm working on page 2. It's alot of dark navy and black so it seems to take forever to do. When I'm not working on this I'm working on a crocheted baby blanket for my cousin who is due this summer with her first child. I'll take a pic later this week of the blanket and post it.

I'm now working overnights which is a switch for me. I'm so use to working days but I like the pay of doing it. I get to buy more stash now. I'm thinking of joining a fotm (fabric of the month) and a totm (thread of the month). I don't have much of a stash of fabric and the only floss I have is DMC so I'm going to a specialty floss collection now.

Summer is almost gone

Summer as just flown by hasn't it. It seems that schools let kids out just yesterday and here they are back again. It's getting colder here in the heartland too. Soon leaves will be changing colors and falling to the ground. Don't get me wrong I love Fall but just don't like the ice and freezing temps that follow behind it. I've noticed that Halloween decorations are starting to show up in stores and so is the candy which as my husband says if evil and taunting to me. I'm borderline diabetic and have just known for a year and I'm trying to cut back on my sugar intake but hey I like my candy and chocolate and then next couple of months are going to be hard on me.

I did get some stitching done in July. Here is an ornament that I completed it's #11 of the ornies that I'm doing for the year.

Here is ornament #12 done also stitched in July. I have 2 done in August also but will take pics after my batteries have charged. The first pics turned out really fuzzy.

Finally the Snowmen are all done with the stitching. Only thing to be done now is to put on the snowflakes, buttons and beads which I will do as soon as I wash and iron it.

Where has the time gone....

this year. It seems like it was just Christmas and now it's July. I was in the fabric department at my local Wal-Mart and saw that they had some Christmas material and was thinking it is July so I should be getting some Christmas presents started and finished or just finished in some cases. I am trying really hard to get the snowmen done that I haven't been working on anything else

except for ornaments these past couple of weeks.

Here is the May addition of the OakHavenDesigns SAL. I'm a little behind but I hope to get caught up soon.

I didn't get an ornament finished for June but I have finished one for July. I've decided that I'm going to try and sell these for a charity at work that I'm involved in called Children's Miracle Network or CMN.

May Ornies

I finished 3 ornaments in May all three where the stocking shaped ones. I only have 3 left of them. Sorry I didn't post them sooner but as you know I was at my parents house last week and before that I have been spring cleaning and working.
