Last Wipocalypse

Well the world as we know it has not ended (which is a good thing). Next month I have signed up for two SALs as mentioned in my last post. I'll be posting more and stitching more I hope. I've signed up for another round of Totally Useless Stitch A Long (TUSAL) hosted by Daffycat

Here is where I left off with stitching The Quiltmaker in October. I was bad and didn't take a pic in November.
This is where I am now. I've put her away for awhile and started working on Solstice and Equinox which I'm doing for my brother.
 Solstice as of  July 2012.
Here is where I am now it's going faster then I thought.

Stitching Update

I know, I know I haven't been blogging lately but 'tis the season especially when working retail. I have been stitching though.
Here is where I left off in October.
Here is where I am now. I've even done some of the backstitching as I've gone. I still need to add the silver for the buttons and the needle.

2013 SALs

I've signed up for two SALs so far for 2013 the first is taking place at BAP Attack it's called Turtle Trot. It is for someone who have lots of starts but not many finishes.

My second SAL is taking place in a facebook group that I'm in called The Stash, Stitch and Honking Raketeers Club. I'll be stitching a HAED chart called Mini Blue Topaz I'll be starting her on January 1st.

WIPocalypse for October

I've been busy stitching on The Quiltmaker. This is where I was last WIPocalypse.
Here is where I am now. I can't wait to get done with all of this blue and start another color.

I have become addicted to HAED either buying them for myself or from Raking some patterns. I've added several to my list. I'll be working on some next year which ones I haven't decided yet.

WIPocalypse August 31st

Let me start off by saying that August went by way too fast. I hope the rest of the year goes by a little slower. This month I worked on The Quiltmaker from Lavender & Lace. I went from this.
To this.

I didn't think that I had stitched that much on this one but I guess that I did. I think I'm gonna stick with her for awhile. My husband doesn't think I can finish even one project without starting another one so I'm gonna try really hard to make that happen. He didn't say anything about buying anything new.

Speaking of buying something new I think I can participate in the HAED Appreciation Week which takes place September 10th - September 14th. Michelle has been seeing a decline in sales due to people not honoring the copyrights on these patterns. If you don't do HAEDs you can always RAK a pattern to someone who does.

TUSAL and life update

First up is my August TUSAL. I worked on The Quiltmaker that is the tan that you see on the top. I may have to get a bigger container for my orts if I keep it up. Which is good right?

Now on to life. I was to start a work free vacation on Wednesday the 8th but  it started two days early. Two Sundays ago on the 5th of August I go a phone call from my Aunt and she told me that my dad had a stroke and was in the hospital and was doing okay. So I went to work that night with my phone on just in case things turned bad. The next day I get a phone call while sleeping again from my aunt and she told me that my dad had been moved to ICU and that I need to get there. So I hurried and packed called work several times saying that I was not going to be there I had to get to my parents house NOW. My husband drove me the
4 1/2 hours to get there since I was in no condition to drive and when we got there my sister came out and was talking to me and said that dad was stable and was looking good. Some how I just didn't believe her, this is the same sister who didn't call me when my mom had seizures after taking a test at the doctor's office earlier this year.
Anyway I went and saw him which was extremely hard to do since the last time I saw anyone in a hospital bed it was my grandfather and it tore me up. He was talking and stuff like that and knew who I was even without his glasses which was good but when he talked he made no sense. He kept saying something about his bark, which I took to me his speech. I had to get out of the room and have a cry. I spent the next several days in the hospital only going back to the room once a day because I just couldn't see my dad that way. On  Wednesday I spent a little more time with him and he was a little more like himself tell me how to can tomatoes (like I was gonna remember). I felt a lot better after that. He was moved to a regular room on Thursday and then was sent home on Friday. He is on several different meds to keep his blood pressure down and his blood thin. He went to a Threshermen's show on Saturday much to my objection. He was in a wheel chair most of the time so I guess it wasn't that bad.
He is doing so much better now. He still gets his words confused when he is getting tired or just wakes up and his right side is still numb but the doctor's say that should go away with time. He isn't at work yet but is working at getting better. My sister stays with him during the day and makes him do his writing exercises to he can at least write his name. It's tough since he is right handed and that hand is numb. I get regular updates and pics from my sister on how he is doing.
I'm so glad that it was just a minor stroke and not a major one. It has made me realize that I need to get healthier since I have the same blood pressure issues that my dad has and right now it's a little on the high side even with 2 different kinds of meds to control it. It's tough though when I work overnights and all I want to do when I get home is sleep and sit on the couch. I'm working on cooking meals at home instead of eating  out every day which is a lot easier.
I'm thinking of starting a weight loss counter on here so I can see what I've lost/gained every week and it will give me an excuse to post updates on my stitching as well.

That's it for today folks.

WIPocalypse for March

Sorry I've not updated on time this month but it's begun as a busy month so I'm hoping it will slow down and leave in a calm matter.

Well I've been stitching  on a couple of projects this past month. I've been working on Happily Ever After for my BIL and future SIL who have set a date in July and both DH and I are both in the wedding so I'm gonna try and get this done early.

Next is A Long Winter's Nap I'm working on all the black right now since it's the most color used in the bottom of page 1. I bought a couple of  new HAEDs during their 50% sale one for me and one for my brother. I'll be starting the one for my brother as soon as I finish a project and I pull the colors.

TUSAL for February

Here is my TUSAL for February I know it's several days late but I did make the posting during the month so I guess that counts. As you can see I didn't add a whole lot to this since I was working on some knitting and not a whole alot of cross stitching. I'm hoping to add some to this jar next month.

WIPocalypse for February

Well another month has passed for the WIPocalypse and I actually had time to stitch due to having a minor surgery. I stitched on A Long Winter's Nap a HAED. I'm on all confetti stitches, which I hate by the way. I'm hoping the next time I stitch on this I'll be done with them and onto more solid colors.

Next up is Happily Ever After I stitched on this one the most as you can see. After I've read about everyone working on their HAEDs I decided to work on one of mine.

TUSAL and knitting update

Here is my TUSAL for January. Sorry it's very blurry, I don't know what happened there. As you can see most of my orts are from my knitting and crocheting.

Here is my first sock. I do have both socks done but taking a pic right now is hard to do.

I had surgery on Monday the 22nd and the incestion is right on my belly button so bending over and putting on socks is a little painful. I will be taking pics later this week or early next week with my socks on. I have started knitting another pair for myself. I'm also working on one of my WIPs so my next update will be a pic of my cross stitch.

WIPocalypse January Update

Well it's a new year so let's hope I do better at updating and reading blogs. I do know that I'm addicted to Ravelry. To all you non knitters and crocheters out there it's a place for knitters and crocheters to get together and talk about the world of yarn. I also found a group on there that was related to cross stitching.

Speaking of stitching I've actually done some I've been working on Happy Ever After since it has to be done some time soon since the couple is not sure when they are getting married so I need to have it done at least to the point in putting the date in.
